Manchester United Secure New Manager
Manchester United are apparently sealing the deal for Erik ten Hag to take over as club boss.
The 52-year-old Dutchman secured an interview with the Red Devils after making the shortlist, along with three others: Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauricio Pochettino, Spanish coach Luis Enrique, and Sevilla’s Julen Lopetegui.
Although he is currently the head of Ajax Amsterdam, Ten Hag is tipped to take over at United for the 2022/23 season; interim boss Ralf Rangnick has supported the move, according to reports.
The deal has generated positive buzz at Old Trafford; inside sources claim that Ten Hag will most likely bring old school talent in the form of an ex-player or coach to be part of his support team, as none of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s old guard are going to stick around.
An official announcement about Ten Hag’s appointment is expected to follow once Ajax has played their Eredivisie title match against PSV Eindhoven on 17 April, although this might be delayed further out of respect for the Dutch giants.
